Malta Paola Mobility
Monday 9th December
The third Learning/Teaching/Training activity of the ERASMUS+ Project “Learn & Earn” took place in Malta-Italy from the 7th to 14th December 2019. The participants, teachers and students, came from 3 European countries: Germany (Gummersbach), Sicily (Catania) and Portugal (Fatima).
The first day started with a friendly welcome given to our guests by Mr Bugeja HOS in the school Hall, followed by an introductory and warm-up activity that offered the students the opportunity to get to know each other better and familiarise themselves with the island. This was followed by Power Point Presentations (below) from all Countries:
“First Part of a business plan: Business plan: Business Idea-Brand-Market Research-Target Customers-Legal status”.
This session was followed by a School Tour and lunch at school. Participants returned to Hotel Cerviola M’Scala late in the afternoon for a free evening.

Tuesday 10th December
The day started with a group photo session at the Paola Local Council outdoor amphitheatre, followed by a welcome speech by the Paola Mayor in the main hall of the Local Council office. The welcome note was followed by a warm up session involving all participants.
During the first part of the session, a presentation on “How to draw a Business Plan: Operating Plan: Location-competitors – marketing mix – Source of Finance – Team structure” was held
Following the Coffee Break, the group continued with the second part of the training course: “How to draw a Business Plan: Operating Plan, followed by workshops on “How to pitch your Start-up” LINK
The group had lunch in the centre of Paola, giving participants the opportunity to discover more about the village which surrounds the school and it’s people.

Wednesday 11th December
Following breakfast, participants headed to the Ta’ Qali Crafts Village, whereby they visited “Mediterranean Ceramics”, a family-run enterprise. They were briefed about the success story of the company and how it went from a sole trader small business to a fully functional successful company, on a local and international level. Participants visited Mdina Glass, and had the opportunity to watch live glass blowers and appreciate hand made glass artifacts.
The next stop was Mdina, Malta’s silent city. The group walked through the narrow streets of a true Medieval city, appreciating historic buildings, museums, churches and views. Lunch with some beautiful views of the islands was the next on the list.
During the afternoon, the group headed towards Sliema, on the North-Eastern coast of Malta, which offered another side of what the island could offer.

Thursday 12th December
Following breakfast in Marsaskala, participants made their way towards the Corradino MCast Entrepreneurship Hub. The session included a presentation about the Hub’s main purpose and function.
The session ended with the presentation of certificates to all participants.
The second part of the day started with a walk to 3 cities visiting Cospicua, Senglea and Birgu. Participants then took the ferry from Senglea to Valletta, enjoying some splendid views which the area can offer. Upon arrival in the lower part of the city, the group took the lift to the Upper Barrakka Gardens, Castille Square, Parliament Square, Tritons Fountain and around Valletta.

Friday 13th December
Public holiday in Malta (Republic Day). Following breakfast, the group headed towards Sliema, opposite Valletta, on the other side of the Marsamxetto Harbour. The group toured the touristic area, and stopped for lunch in an ancient Fortezza, reminiscent of the island’s defense methods in ancient times.
Following a free afternoon, the group headed towards Marsaskala one last time, whereby groups prepared for the eventual return to their respective countries.
